Fundamental Principles of Design

For this Final, I wanted to express a more personal side of myself such as my likings, interests, and roots. Firstly, for “typography” I chose to do the letter “D” which was the first letter of my dad’s name. Furthermore, using Arabic ethnic patterns to show my birthplace in the Middle East with geometric patterns and the red famous “keffiyeh” from the traditional Saudi clothes. For geometric, I chose a “diamond” as it can be interpreted as both fancy
and “a diamond in the rough” inference. Particularly, using the “peacock” bird inside the diamond shape as it is dominant in all genres. Lastly, the Object is a “butterfly” to show off blooming and my transition into growing while in University. I really wanted to use the object to also compliment  the genres. Overall, I enjoyed this project as it was very challenging. I am still not used to digtial so this Finals taught me a lot about digital media and software. Because I struggled with my personal life during this project it was hard to manifest and combine ideas, usually, I am very out of the box but for this concept, I feel left inside the box as I am reflecting and the artwork is a reflection of me trying to And my style, place and journey
